Procedure on Revisions to the Taxonomy & Nomenclature Matrix

 

1.  Parent Policy and Related Policies/Procedures

2.  Purpose

The purpose of this procedure is to document the steps necessary to make revisions to the Taxonomy & Nomenclature (T&N) Matrix.

 

3.  Applicability

This procedure applies to Fermi Research Alliance, LLC and all its employees, affiliates, and users. 

 

4.  Effective Date and Date Reviewed/Updated

This procedure went into effect on November 20, 2024.

 

5.  Procedure

 

a.  The Requirement Owner (RO) or policy Point of Contact (POC) must specify on the required Intake Form/Impact Analysis if a revision to the T&N Matrix is required.

 

b. If a revision is required, the POB will consult the Director of the Office of Contractor Assurance to confirm if a Department of Energy (DOE) Fermi Site Office (FSO) approval will be required for the revision.

                       

          i. If DOE FSO approval is required for the revision, the Director of the Office of Contractor Assurance will obtain approval. The T&N Matrix will not be revised until approval from DOE FSO has been obtained.

 

         ii. If DOE FSO approval is not required, the POB will make the necessary edits to the T&N Matrix.

 

 

6.  Definitions

Fermilab is the physical site and property that is the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.

 

Fermi Research Alliance, LLC is the operator and manager of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory under Department of Energy Prime Contract No. DE-AC02-07CH11359 and is the principal employer of personnel working at Fermilab.

 

7.  Owner and Subject Matter Experts

The Director of the Office of Contractor Assurance is the owner of this procedure.

 

8.  Review Cycle

This procedure shall be reviewed every 3 years.

 

9.  Communication Plan

This procedure will be communicated by the Director of the Office of Contractor Assurance to all ROs. This Policy shall be available on the Fermilab policy website. The Director of the Office of Contractor Assurance is responsible for communication of this policy.
