Intended for:

FermiMail users who need to write an Outlook filter to forward any emails with a particular sender/subject such as email alerts from monitoring systems.

 


Scenario/Use case:

How to write an Outlook filter to forward any emails with a particular sender/subject to your cell phone as a text message via email-to-text

 


Instructions:

  1. Determine your phone's email address (Below is a list of some carrier SMS gateways)
      1. AT&T: [your number]@txt.att.net
      2. MetroPCS: [your number]@mymetropcs.com
      3. Nextel: [your number]@messaging.nextel.com
      4. Sprint: [your number]@messaging.sprintpcs.com OR [your number]@pm.sprint.com
      5. T-Mobile: [your number]@tmomail.net
      6. Verizon: [your number]@vtext.com
      7. Virgin Mobile: [your number]@vmobl.com
      8. U.S. Cellular: [your number]@email.uscc.net
        i. Google Fi: [your number]@msg.fi.google.com
  2. In Outlook create a new rule




  3. Select “Advanced Options”



  4. Select the condition this rule will apply to

  5. Click Next

  6. In the Step 1 box select the action "forward it to people or public group"




  7. In the Step 2 box click on the link “people or public group”




  8. Enter the text message address of your phone in the "To" box



  9. Click OK

  10. Click Next

  11. Click Next

  12. Name your rule, make sure the "Turn on Rule" box is checked




13. Click Finish
