Intended for:

Users who need to configure Outlook for macOS to access their Fermilab email.

Scenario/Use case:

This article provides instructions on how to configure Outlook for macOS to access your Fermilab email.

Instructions:

Configuring Outlook for the first time.

  1. Launch Outlook
  2. If the "Set up Your Email" window correctly identifies your account (i.e., [USER]@services.fnal.gov), click the "Add [USER]@services.fnal.gov" and continue to step 3.

If the "Set up Your Email" window does not correctly identify your account (i.e., [USER]@services.fnal.gov), click the "Add Others" and then skip to the "Adding another email account" section, step 4.

  3. Login with your Services account and password then click "Sign On".

NOTE: If you are offsite and not connected to Fermilab's VPN, you may be prompted to provide an RSA passcode as part of the "Two-Factor Authentication" requirement.  Enter your passcode and click "OK". If you are unsure how to generate your passcode, please review "How to use RSA hardware token to generate a passcode" or "How to install and use RSA soft token to generate a passcode".

  4. If you correctly authenticated, you will see that your account was added.  Click "Done".

 Adding another email account.

  1. Launch Outlook
  2. If Outlook does not prompt you to add an email account, click "Tools" from the menu and then "Accounts".

  3. Select "Add Email Account".

  4. Enter your email address, including "services" (i.e., [USER]@services.fnal.gov), and click "Continue".

Outlook will attempt to automatically connect your email address.

  6. Login with your Services account and password then click "OK".
