How to remove your old CILogon certificate from your browser

Intended for: CILogon personal certificate users


Scenario/Use case:

This article provides instructions on how to remove your old CILogon personal certificate from your browser.


Instructions:

For Windows users:

  1. Click on gear icon and select Internet Options
  2. Click on Content
  3. Click on Certificates.
  4. Select certificate issued to UID:yourusername. You can tell which one is old by expiration date.
  5. Click Remove
  6. Click Yes.
  7. Click Close
  1. Select Options 
  2. Click Advanced on the left navigation bar, and then select the Certificates 
  3. Click View Certificates.
  4. Select Your Certificates 
  5. Select certificate issued to UID:yourusername. You can tell which one is old by expiration date.
  6. Click Delete.

For Mac users:

  1. Go to launch pad and select Keychain Access.
  2. Under Keychains select login.
  3. Under Category select My Certificates.
  4. Select certificate issued to UID:yourusername. You can tell which one is old by expiration date.
  5. Press Delete button
  6. Click Delete.
  1. Open Firefox preferences on the Firefox menu bar.
  2. Click Advancedon the left navigation bar and then select the Certificates
  3. Click View Certificates.
  4. Select the Your Certificates
  5. Select certificate issued to UID:yourusername. You can tell which one is old by expiration date.
  6. Click Delete.
