Installing Cisco Jabber on a non-Fermilab device


Intended for:

Those who wish to use Cisco Jabber on a non-Fermilab device.



Scenario/Use case:

How to install Cisco Jabber on a non-Fermilab device.

NOTE: You must have your home computer on the Fermilab VPN and you must be a Fermilab employee.  For information on installing the VPN client and connecting to the Fermilab VPN, please see this Knowledge Base Article. Cisco Jabber uses your SERVICES username and password and will auto-configure once you log in.



Instructions:

1. Log into the APEX application (requires VPN) https://www-esh.fnal.gov/pls/apex/f?p=106.

2. Enter your SERVICES username and password at the login screen.



3. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll see the following screen. Click on the icon on the left next to the client you wish to download. Do NOT use the “TEST” version unless specifically requested to do so.



 4. Accept the “Acceptable Use Policy” (AUP).

 



5. Click Download to download the software. 

6. Unzip and follow prompts for installation.
