ServiceNow changes after the FedRAMP High migration
ServiceNow has been migrated to the FedRAMP High environment to fulfill Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) security requirements.
This article describes ServiceNow changes after the migration.
After the migration, the vast majority of ServiceNow functionalities remain the same, but the following have changed:
- ServiceNow website URL has changed from https://fermi.service-now.com to https://fermi.servicenowservices.com. A redirect has been provided by the vendor, ServiceNow, to redirect old URLs to the new URLs until July 20, 2020.
- ServiceNow email address has changed from firstname.lastname@example.org to email@example.com.
ServiceNow URL change
Starting from May 19, 2020 through July 20, 2020, website and document editors will need to update their webpages and documents that have ServiceNow URLs by replacing “fermi.service-now.com” with “fermi.servicenowservices.com” in the URLs. See examples below.
Note: https://servicedesk.fnal.gov is the preferred way to link to the ServiceNow web portal home page, as this URL will always work.
If your website has a link that points to the ServiceNow form “Request for Fermilab Visitor ID and computer accounts” at https://fermi.service-now.com/new_acct_request.do, you need to change that link to https://fermi.servicenowservices.com/new_acct_request.do.
If your document has a link to the knowledge base article “How to Connect to Fermilab VPN using an RSA Token or YubiKey” at https://fermi.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0013046, you need to change that link to https://fermi.servicenowservices.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0013046.
ServiceNow email address change
Fermilab’s ServiceNow email address has changed from firstname.lastname@example.org to email@example.com. If you have set up an email filter to filter ServiceNow emails, be sure to update your email filter with the new email address firstname.lastname@example.org.
