Indico - How to ensure correct category and permission for event registration
Intended for:
Meeting organizers (the person who submitted the event in the Event Approval System (EAS)).
Scenario/Use case:
The meeting organizer is using Indico for event registration and needs to ensure the event has the correct category and permission to enable event participants to register.
Instructions:
If the meeting organizer (the person who submits the EAS event request form) selects the “Create a site for me” option in EAS, an Indico registration page is created. However, the event is uncategorized and set to “private” by default. The meeting organizer must take steps to enable event participants to register:
- Request that the event be moved to the correct event category by contacting the category manager [link to “how to determine a category” manager below] or
- Submit a Service Desk General Request to have the event made public for registration.
- Submit a Service Desk General Request to have the event made public for registration.
In all other cases, the meeting organizer will need to contact the category manager to make the event public.

From the Indico homepage, click on a category or subcategory:
