Windows: How to access Employee Payroll Self-Service (PeopleSoft) through a terminal server
Intended for:
Windows users who need to use a terminal server to access Employee Payroll Self-Service (PeopleSoft).
Scenario/Use case:
Most Windows users will be able to access Employee Payroll Self-Service by clicking the log-in link at http://fermipayroll.fnal.gov. However, if you are having issues, you may also use a terminal server to access the site.
Instructions:
To access the terminal server from a Windows computer:
1. If you are offsite, you must be connected to the lab’s VPN network in order to access Employee Payroll Self-Service. (See instructions for using VPN). If you are onsite at the lab, you must be connected to the lab’s fgz network, not the guest network.
2. Go to https://fermi-pay.fnal.gov.
3. Log in using your Services account username and password.
A dialog box similar to the following will pop up asking you to run the add-on, “Microsoft Remote Desktop Services Web Access Con from Microsoft Corporation” on your computer:
4. Click Allow.
The Terminal Services home page will appear:
5. Click on Fermi-Pay.
The RemoteApp screen will appear:
6. Click Connect.
The Employee Payroll Self-Service home page will appear:
7. Click Log in to Employee Payroll Self-Service.
8. Log in with your Employee Payroll Self-Service (PeopleSoft) Password.
To print your paystub (or other information) from the terminal server:
- You must use a secure print queue. Information about how to set up the terminal server to print to the secure print queue is available in this article.
- A list of secure printers by organization is here.
- If you are not at the laboratory, you can take a screen shot from your local computer and print the captured image.
