How to find the expiration date of a Fermilab website

Intended for:

Website owners.

Scenario/Use case:

This article provides instructions on how to find expiration date of a Fermilab website.

As part of an ongoing effort to optimize Fermilab Web security and ensure that Fermilab websites are compliant with the Fermilab Web Governance Policy, all Fermilab website owners are required to verify website ownership and other information on an annual basis. The Service Desk has begun sending website hosting renewal notifications to those listed as the primary owner of each website. Failure to renew the website hosting request for a particular website may result in the website eventually being blocked from serving content offsite.

Note for Fermilab Computing staff only: The Fermilab website renew process is a separate process from Computing’s annual webpage review process.

Instructions:

1. Log in to Service Desk web portal at http://servicedesk.fnal.gov using your Services account username and password.

2. Click the hamburger menu icon in the top left corner and then select Classic View.

3. On the left navigation bar, type websites in the search box. Under the Configuration section, click Websites.

4.  In the Go to search box, type the name of the website (e.g., ftbf.fnal.gov) and press Enter. Or you can type part of the website name (e.g., ftbf) and press Enter.

5. Click the website that you are interested in.

6. Under the Governance section, look for Last Content Review Date. This date plus one year will be the expiration date of your website. For example, if the listed date is 2015-10-07, the website expiration date will be 2016-10-07.
