How to install Cisco Jabber for VoIP

 

Intended for:

Users who would like to use a softphone and/or IM desktop application.

 


Scenario/Use case:

This article provides instructions on how to install Cisco Jabber on your desktop station (Windows or MacOS).

1. The Cisco Jabber v12.7.1 software can be found in the Software Center (Windows) and Self Service (Mac). In the start menu of your computer, search for Software Center if using a Windows machine or for Self Service if using a Mac machine.

2. Within the Software Center/Self Service, search for Cisco Jabber. Click on Cisco Jabber, then click Install.

3. Once the client has been installed, open Cisco Jabber and type in your username as username@fnal.gov then click Continue.



4. Then it will prompt for the username (without @fnal.gov) and password (SERVICES). Type in the credentials and click Sign In.



5. When you see the “Certificate not valid” pop-up window, click Accept. You will only need to do this once on the first time signing in.
