How to connect to the new Metasys VPN system (metasysvpn2.fnal.gov) using a YubiKey or RSA token

 

Intended for:

Users who need to test the new Metasys VPN system (metasysvpn2.fnal.gov) using a YubiKey or RSA token.

 


Scenario/Use case:

Connect to the new Metasys VPN system (metasysvpn2.fnal.gov) for testing using a YubiKey or RSA token (hard or soft).

 


Instructions:

How to connect to the new Metasys VPN system (metasysvpn2.fnal.gov) for testing with an RSA token

  1. Launch the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility VPN client.
  2. In the text box, type metasysvpn2.fnal.gov and click Connect.
  3. For Group, select MetasysVPN-RSA.
  4. For Username, type your Fermilab username.
  5. For Password, type your SERVICES password.
  6. For Second Password, type your PIN (see instructions for setting up your RSA token PIN), followed by RSA token code with no spaces in between.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Accept on the Cisco AnyConnect banner. You will now be connected to the new Metasys VPN system.

 

How to connect to the new Metasys VPN system (metasysvpn2.fnal.gov) for testing with a YubiKey

  1. Connect your Yubikey to the computer and wait for confirmation that it is configured.
  2. Launch the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility VPN client.
  3. In the text box, type metasysvpn2.fnal.gov and click Connect.
  4. For Group, select MetasysVPN-YubiKey-Cert.
  5. Enter your Yubikey PIN. (See article for resetting your PIN).
  6. Click OK.
  7. Enter your SERVICES account username and password.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Accept on the Cisco AnyConnect banner. You will now be connected to the new Metasys VPN system.
