FermiMail: iOS - Configuring Outlook on iPhone or iPad

Intended for:

Individuals who need to configure their iOS device to access their Fermilab email.

Scenario/Use case:

This article describes how to configure your iOS device to access your Fermilab email.

Instructions:

Note: Instructions and screenshots are for iPhones running iOS 17 with Outlook version 4.2417.0. Setup on iPads will be similar but may look slightly different. Newer versions of iOS and/or Outlook should also be similar but may also alter how the process appears.

1. Download Outlook from iOS App Store if it is not already installed.

2. Open Outlook app.

3. Tap Add Account.

4. Enter your email address in the "Email Address" field. Make sure you use the format [username]@services.fnal.gov.

5. Tap Add Account.

6. Log in with your Services account username and password, and then click Sign On.

7. You may be prompted to enter your Services account username and password a second time. If so, log in again with your Services account username and password, and then click Sign On.

8. You will be prompted to provide an RSA passcode as part of the Two-Factor Authentication requirement. Enter your passcode and click Submit. If you are unsure how to generate your passcode, please read these articles: "How to use RSA hardware token to generate a passcode" or "How to install and use RSA soft token to generate a passcode".

9. Tap Continue to trust services.fnal.gov.

10. Tap Continue to sign in to Outlook Mobile.

The account will be added to Outlook app.

11. A message will appear that a US Government account has been detected. Tap OK to restart the app. You will not be able to add additional accounts. Any other accounts added previously will be removed. Please note that you can still add a Shared Mailbox.
