Scenario/Use case:
Zoom is upgrading its software, and after May 30, Zoom will not work on machines that do not have at least version 5.0. To check which version of Zoom you have, see this article.
Instructions on how to upgrade your Zoom client are below.
Instructions:
On Windows computers
- OPTION A: If you use a Fermilab centrally managed computer and are familiar with the Windows Software Center (aka "Windows Self Service"), you can upgrade using that method. (Search for Software Center on your computer, in the Software Center, search for Zoom. Click on the application and click Install. OPTION B: To upgrade Open your Zoom client on your computer. - Click on your avatar in the upper right corner of the application.
- Click Check for updates
If there is a newer version than the version you have installed, the application will already update. (You must have Zoom version 5.0 or above installed in order to use the Zoom client after May 30.)
On Mac computers
- OPTION A: If you use a Fermilab centrally managed Mac OS computer and are familiar with the Mac Self Service, you can upgrade using that method. See detailed instructions.
OPTION B:To install via the Zoom client:
1. Open the Zoom client on your computer. - On your toolbar, click on zoom.us
- Click Check for updates
If there is a newer version than the version you have installed, the application will already update. (You must have Zoom version 5.0 or above installed in order to use the Zoom client after May 30.)
