How to request a new account

Those who need to request for Fermilab primary accounts
Scenario/Use case:
This article provides instructions on how to request for Fermilab primary accounts.
There are four types of personnel who access Fermilab computers: employees, users, subcontractors and authorized guests. Please read the section below that applies to you.
Note: For instructions on how to renew your account, see this article.
Instructions:
On-site Employees
- Read the Fermilab Policy on Computing.
- Obtain a Fermilab ID during the New Employee Orientation. This includes putting information into FermiWorks.
- Your supervisor or a colleague may then fill out the Computing Username and Primary Accounts form for you:
- Log in to the Service Desk
- Fill out Computing Username & Primary Accounts form. This form is used to request any of the following:
- User name for all your computer accounts at the lab
- Fermilab Email account
- Kerberos Principal
- Services Account
- FermiWorks Account
Users, Affiliates, Contractors and Authorized Guests

Note: Please begin this process at a minimum of 4 weeks prior to your arrival at Fermilab to ensure the process is complete at the time of your arrival.
